4 Ways to Know Whether Your Team is Engaged
Hello there!
I know many of us right now are struggling to lead remote teams. However, it’s more important than ever to ensure that you have a team that is engaged with your mission, that is engaged with your leadership.
There are four quick ways to assess whether your team is engaged.
They provide direct feedback vs. secondhand or not at all. That’s the sign that they’re engaged. You want a team that is giving you their perspective and sharing information with you. If they’re not speaking to you at all beyond what is required, that’s the sign that they’re not so engaged. But if they are giving you feedback and they are comfortable speaking with you, that’s a sign that they are very engaged with your leadership.
They give ideas for new work or improvements. If a team leader or a team representative is giving ideas to you regarding how the organization can improve, that means they genuinely care about your organization and the operation, and a sure sign that they are engaged.
They proactively initiate new meetings or sessions with you. We all know everyone is very busy with great demands. If you have a team member who initiates a meeting with you, that means he/she is probably very engaged. Do not take this for granted but applaud them for the proactivity in that initiation.
They solicit your input regarding their work and perspectives in the organization. This is a great sign that they have respect for you, and they’re engaged with you as a leader.
I hope that you’re seeing these four signs among your team members and I hope that it’ll help you to assess those stars who truly are engaged with you and your organization.
I hope these help you or someone you know. If you think it's going to helps someone you know, feel free to share.
